Psych department news

Five U of T Mississauga Staff Vie for Best Lecturer in Province

Congrats to Dax Urbszat for being nominated for TVO's Best Lecturer Competition! We're cheering for you!!!!!!

Volunteer

For students thinking of pursuing psychology at the graduate level, involvement in psychology outside the classroom is very important. We try to keep our members informed of psychology opportunities both on and off campus. Donating your time not only helps you gain valuable experience in your area of interest, but also is a great way to get necessary reference letters for graduate school applications, become more involved, and have fun.

We are always looking for dedicated students to help us run office hours as Executive assistants - stop by our office for more info!

Office Hours

Office hours are also posted outside the PUMP room. Note that all office hours begin 10 minutes after the hour (to allow the execs time to get to the office from class). Please try to rent your tests early in each hour - an exec can only rent a test if they have time to receive it back from you before their hour is up.

Office hours are subject to change - a note will be left on the bulletin board outside the PUMP room if an exec cannot make their particular hour for that day.

What is P.A.U.S.E.?

We are the Psychology Association of Undergraduate Students at Erindale - one of the campus' largest and most active student organizations.

P.A.U.S.E. seeks to provide all students at UTM the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the diverse field of psycholgy and have fun while being a part of an active organization.

We offer many services to help you with your psychology studies at UTM:

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. provides the opportunity for its members to view psychology tests from previous years. This service is free for all P.A.U.S.E. members (and $1 per test for non-members). All that is required is for you to leave your membership card and another form of ID (like a driver's license) with the exec on duty while you rent the test(s). All rented material must be returned by the time that exec's office hour is over. Stop by the PUMP room to check out our list of available tests! We depend on students like you to keep our test bank updated and running! We greatly appreciate test donations!

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. also puts together PSY100 test packages that includes all of last year's textbook tests. In conjunction with the Academic Skills Centre, P.A.U.S.E. also hosts various psychology seminars throughout the year to help students study for PSY100 tests. Contact us for more info.

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. execs hold regular office hours and are readily available to answer your questions or address your concerns.

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. seeks to provide all students at UTM the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the diverse field of psychology - and have fun! We seek to plan academic and social events, which highlight the role of psychology in everyday life.

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. strives to take an active role in the community. In previous years, we have been a part of the annual daffodil drive for cancer. We also hold an annual Silent Auction at our Variety Night, in which all of the money raised in donated to charity.

Ψ P.A.U.S.E. also aims to keep our members informed of psychology opportunities both on and off campus. Contact us or stop by the PUMP room
